Here's Sarah's Summer Plans In Her Own Words.......

My name is Sarah Capra and I’m a student at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. My Graphic Arts program chose me from all the other students as their “Graphic Arts Student of the Year” and I also participated in the Massachusetts Skills USA competition and received a gold medal at the district level. I am also a member of the National Honor Society.

This spring I was accepted into the Summer Studios Youth Program at the prestigious Massachusetts College of Art and Design where I also plan to attend after graduating from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School next June.

Summer Studios is an intensive four week program for the young artist who is serious about his or her work and career. Students from around the country come

together to experience MassArt and the environment of a higher education institution in visual arts.

The Summer Studios at MassArt takes place between July 19 and August 15, 2009. After applying, I was awarded a partial scholarship from MassArt. The remainder of the summer tuition is my responsibility. Although I have been working two jobs and balancing my time as a nationally ranked competitive cheerleader, I find that I have been unable to meet the full financial responsibility for the tuition.

Currently there is still a gap between what I have saved and been awarded and the final balance due for attendance in the Summer Studios program. The cost of the entire program is over $4,000 and I am seeking donations to assist me in realizing my dream of attending the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Please heartfully consider helping me in attaining my goals. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
