People All Over The Globe Are Learning to Oil Paint
The Basic Technique of Oil Painting video series is helping people learn to oil paint. I'm absolutely convinced that ANYONE who wants to oil want, will be able to learn from this library of techniques. I've received hundreds and hundreds of emails thanking me for this series and to keep up the good work. I'd like to share just a few I've received .....
I really learned a lot from this video. The one painting, I did I struggled so on the sky. (I think it took me ten tries to get it right!) You made it look so easy. I didn't follow along this time. I just watched every bit of this video. The next time I watch it I will follow right along.
The way you explain things, and show exactly how to do them, will help even the person with no experience at all. I like the way that you go back over it in slow motion. That is a perfect touch. It shows how you hold the brush and how to move it. Believe me, that is one good thing to learn. Loading the brush techniques is another good thing you show. (I tried overloading the brush and making mud on my first painting of my own.) All I can say is thanks!
I love watching you paint. You make it look effortless, and yet easy to learn. I believe I too can learn to paint from watching this video. I look forward to watching more in the future!

PREPARATION DVD: A Thorough Review
PREPARATION DVD:
I was very attentive while watching, taking five pages of notes. It was like being in class. You let the viewer know exactly what they needed, both now and in the future. (I plan to purchase better brushes when I improve in my painting!) Right now, since I am a complete beginner, I purchased mid-line brushes. I purchased the least expensive canvases for now. (If I paint a masterpiece, I pray it will not matter!)
I just had a birthday and told people all I wanted was art supplies, namely paint. With my money in hand, I went out and purchased as many of the colors you went through for both portraits and landscapes. (I got most of the floral colors.) I believe I am about all set up to begin on my painting journey. My art room will be set up within the next two weeks!
I never imagined that you could "underpaint" using acrylic, when oil painting. Up until recently, I didn't even know what underpainting was. (How green is that?) I watched in complete awe as that gray/black tree and rock painting unfolded. I never knew of liquid clear and what it was used for. When I saw what it did, I was blown away. I couldn't wait to go and buy some "liquid" paints! I want to try a night scene as soon as I can.
Using contact paper to make different cut-out paintings taught me a lot as well. I always wondered how to get such a sharp image when the background is so intense with colors. I used to think it was cheating if you traced, but I guess if it is your own work it does not matter! The many tricks and tips were very helpful.
This dvd was very informative and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to paint. This is a great tool for beginners. Everyone needs to know the basics, and you explain them so well that even I can understand them. (Ha Ha)

Worth every penny!
Dear Mr. Crow, I thought that I would drop you a line just to let you know that so far I have watched two of your programs and they are wonderful. I may have gotten a lot of compliments on my art work during the past, but I was the first to tell them that I was not an artist. But from watching your programs I have learned a lot in just a short period of time.
The wonderful part of this letter was to inform you that the cost of your product was economical and truly worth every penny I invested. There are not many companies who would have shared the kind of information that you have without charging an arm and a leg. And I'm still inclined to believe that they would have held back special secrets, but not you. Mind you, it takes a very special person indeed to impress me.

I love this man!
We received your dvd yesterday and today I asked my daughter, who is 10, to view a little of the dvd and let me know what she thinks. She has won every art contest she has entered so far with water colors and acrylics. I thought it was time to introduce her to oils. She is a natural artist.
She put the video in and I had to force her to stop at one point so that she could complete her other work for the day, promising that she could go back to the dvd when she was done. She said: "I love this man, He's so funny, I want to watch this everyday. He is like Pawpaw when he's in a really good mood!" As soon as Dad got home she had to have him sit down and show him your dvd.
You have made an incredible impression on Carli. You are a perfect teacher. Even through the computer you relate to the student as if you were right there.

Getting better every day!
Darrell, I ordered your complete set of DVD'S and have been thoroughly enjoying learning from them. I have painted one picture every day for the past month. I am really getting much better every day and just wanted to let you know that I think its wonderful that you are offering this instruction to help us 'wannabe's'.
I retired in July and have wanted to learn to paint all my life, never having time or money to try it before. Needless to say, I am having the time of my life learning now!
